So I measured the resistance of the pots. I looked underneath the DVD and the laser was lit up red. It just spun and spun trying to read the disk but nothing. So I tried cleaning the lens, opened it up and tried to see what's going on when it tries to read disks without the lid (holding the switch to make it think there's a lid). It did read a disk when I first tested it (when buying it), but then after not being used for a few days it no longer read any disks.
